The Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013 introduced significant changes to how construction safety is managed in Ireland. This focused half-day course offers a concise overview of the key roles and responsibilities under the legislation. This course introduces learners to the structure, intent and practical implications of the Construction Regulations 2013. 

  • Overview of the Safety, Health and Welfare (Construction) Regulations 2013 
  • Roles and duties of key duty-holders: clients, PSDP, PSCS, designers, contractors, employees 
  • Introduction to the Safety and Health Plan and the Safety File 
  • Hazard identification and risk assessment techniques 
  • Role and powers of the Health and Safety Authority (HSA) 
  • Responsibilities of safety advisors and safety representatives 
  • Review of HSA-published guidance documents 
  • Relevant recent case law and implications for duty-holders
