This practical course blends theory, strategy and implementation tools to support organisations in designing and delivering Net Zero plans. Course content includes: 

  • Climate science and the case for Net Zero 
  • Global and national climate policy frameworks 
  • Business and environmental benefits of low-carbon operations 
  • Greenhouse gas emissions scopes and inventories 
  • Greenhouse gas accounting methodologies 
  • Carbon neutrality for organisations, products and services 
  • Setting science-based and Net Zero targets 
  • Decarbonisation planning: milestones, metrics and strategy 
  • Scope 3 emissions and value chain engagement 
  • Communicating green claims and Net Zero efforts 

Content can be tailored to suit In-Company needs and sector-specific contexts.

This course is designed for professionals responsible for driving or supporting their organisation’s response to climate change. It is ideal for those with a role in sustainability, corporate responsibility, supply chain, operations, or communications who are looking to implement or enhance a Net Zero strategy.

  • Understand the scope and purpose of greenhouse gas inventories 
  • Apply principles of greenhouse gas accounting using activity data and emission factors 
  • Differentiate between carbon neutrality and Net Zero concepts and applications 
  • Set science-based and Net Zero targets using established methodologies 
  • Develop and implement a decarbonisation plan with appropriate milestones 
  • Communicate climate strategies, targets and performance with clarity and credibility 

Learners will leave with a clear, actionable understanding of how to plan and deliver impactful decarbonisation.

How will I be assessed?

This course is ISEP certified, with successful learners receiving an official certificate from the Institute of Sustainability and Environmental Professionals (ISEP). 

Assessment consists of: 

  • A 20-question multiple-choice online test 
  • Completion through the ISEP assessment portal 
  • A required score of 70% to pass 
  • A set timeframe to complete the test after registration 

Successful completion leads directly to ISEP Associate Membership.
