This intensive one-day programme offers practical guidance on the safe handling of hazardous chemicals and effective spill response. It supports teams in developing confidence and competence to act swiftly and safely in normal operations and emergency scenarios involving chemical substances.

  • Introduction to hazardous chemicals and their health effects
  • Overview of REACH/CLP and relevant legislation
  • Permissible exposure levels and substance classification
  • Interpreting safety labelling and SDS
  • Spill preparation and clean-up protocols
  • Use of spill kits and emergency response equipment
  • PPE selection and safe handling techniques
  • Spill investigation and reporting
