DiSC

DiSC® (Online or Paper Assessment)
As standalone intervention or as an accompaniment to training programs where appropriate

What is DiSC®
DiSC® is a personal assessment tool used to improve work productivity, teamwork, and communication. Based on the work by William Moulton Marston PhD, through completing the Assessment tool, individuals gain a sense of how they tend to respond in their work environment thus increasing self-awareness and enabling reflection and choice around what works and what does not work for them. DiSC is non-judgmental and helps people discuss their behavioural differences in a confidential way with a qualified coach.

What does DiSC Stand for
DiSC is a universal Language which explains behaviours and emotions and is based on factors which transcend race, gender and culture. Its premise is that all people exhibit the four DiSC styles to one degree or another regardless of their background or experience. The four elements of human behaviour are as follows…

  • Dominance: Direct & Decisive. D’s are strong-willed, strong-minded people who like accepting challenges, taking action, and getting immediate results
  • Influence: Optimistic & Outgoing. I’s are “people people” who like participating on teams, sharing ideas, and energizing and entertaining others
  • Steadiness: Sympathetic & Cooperative. S’s are helpful people who like working behind the scenes, performing in consistent and predictable ways, and are good listeners
  • Conscientiousness: Concerned & Correct. C’s value quality and like planning ahead, employing systematic approaches, and checking and re-checking for accuracy

Through the assessment tool individuals will get an insight into what their preferred behaviour style, which helps explains why we tend to behave and respond the way we do with others and in certain situations.

How does DiSC Work?
Individual or teams complete an online or paper assessment which is analysed and a report drafted up which gives an overview and specific information around the individual or groups preferred behaviour style(s). A facilitated discussion is then organised with a qualified coach to allow exploration of the report in the context of the individual/groups’ strengths, opportunities for growth and how they wish to respond to their work environment and work colleagues/direct reports
